Team v Birmingham
I'm 5.5 hrs ahead of you guys and last night was boring.

We need a strong team out but a few youngsters for freshness.

Adrian: Needs a game

Johnson: Could be a risk but we need an option and Zab I feel could be knackered having come back from a fever coupled with only 2 days rest.

Diop: No other option unless Rice plays at the back but he needs a rest too.

Ogbonna: See Diop

Cresswell: Needs some experience.

Coventry: Again a risk but when do you play these youngsters ?he's been on the bench regularly now so not a novice to the team
Playing alongside Noble will help

Noble: Think he will have the desire for a cup run more than others and help the younger players .

Nasri: A debut,let's see his motivation,gives Anderson a break.

Antonio: Our best option on the right .

Arnautovic: On a high after his two goals and says he wants a cup run.

Silva: A debut start, his pace will cause problems. hopefully his scoring feats will continue.

Subs:
Trott: Spot on the bench will do him good.
Masuaka: An option at full back or left wing.
Obiang: Not seen that much action so should be suitably rested.
Diangana: Can play any of the forward roles.
Carroll: Better option of the bench than Perez.
Holland: Not seen any of him, hopefully get some minutes.
Pask: As Oxford is not rated we need another defender on the bench.

I think Adrian, Antonio, Masuaku, Noble, Diangana and Nasri will all be starting based on who played and was taken off yesterday.

I am curious, when you see obvious signs of fatigue in the last few games, whether people consider that the manager was resting people (given them half games) last night to give us a better chance in the Cup.

Last night Pellegrini said that Nasri can only play 15-20 minutes at the moment, so I'm guessing that he won't start.

Re: Team v Birmingham
Don't forget, we've got a week off after this one so Pelle will want to rest players who have done a lot lately but future fixtures won't be a consideration. Nasri will definitely feature but almost certainly from the bench. I think he'll want to give starts to Coventry and Silva, who have been knocking on the door. Would love to see Holland get some time from the bench too.

We need to give some players a rest- that much is clear. Sadly we have too many injuries to really do that.

Adrian

Antonio
Diop
Ogbonna
Masuaku (maybe even play one of him or Creswell at right back)

Obiang
Rice
Noble

Carroll
Arnie
Diangana

Anderson should be rested, Snodgrass and Zabaleta also. Would be great to give Diop and Rice a rest too but who comes in instead?

Re: Team v Birmingham
Carroll looks so off the pace. Why was he taken off at HT yesterday? He's meant to have been fit for months now, training every day.

If this is the fittest he's going to get then he is completely done as a top flight footballer. There's no point in playing him anymore, we may as well focus on getting the best out of Perez or Silva until the summer

Should be enough to dispatch Brum at home. Gives a rest to those that need one but keeps them on hand if required. Holland I think was going to get his debut against Macclesfield in the league cup, but was injured so I would give him his opportunity now with Nasri to come on for the final 15-20 mins.

Would be nice to rest Diop but there aren't really any other options. Oxford has always looked dogshit at centre half and is probably on his way out anyway so wouldn't bother with him.

'Last night Pellegrini said that Nasri can only play 15-20 minutes at the moment,'

Does that mean we only have to pay the cunt £15-20k per week at the moment?
